I have been quite busy this last week with test knits going out, designing new patterns and even teaching some Girl Guides how to spin!
Needles
I have had a few projects on my needles this week, but I cannot share them all as there are a couple that are new designs I am planning on submitting to publications.
However I can show you the Leaving Kansas beret I made. Main section of the hat uses the same centre motif as on the Leaving Kansas scarf. Once I get photos and finalise the pattern it will go out for testing, so keep an eye out for that! I used Teggle Tots Scrumptious Sock once again, this one in the Sunflower colourway.

I have also been working on my beaded Peacock shawl. It is nearing the halfway mark and the colour is changing! I am using Nunnaba White Gum Wool in 4ply for this.

Finally, I have also been working on my OMG Heel socks, but as I have only completed a stripe and a half I haven't taken any more photos of it.
Bobbins
I haven't been doing any spinning this week, but I did meet up with Nessa's Girl Guide unit to teach them how to make their own drop spindle using dowel and cd's. From there they started their spinning journey with some 100% merino that I learned to spin on too. I made up 15 "kits" for them, so that they had everything they needed in there. I don't have any images of them learning, but it was a fun night! Many of the girls were really interested in learning about spinning, and it was a learning experience for me, to teach so many people at once! I also made up a very basic instructional sheet to help the girls when I am not around, if you are interested you can see it here.

Reminders
There are two test knits happening at the moment - check out my previous post for more information.
