Needles & Bobbins: 22 August

Hello all! Sorry for the delay int his weeks Needles and Bobbins post, I have been unwell most of this week and to be honest, yesterday I just wanted to knit. I am not feeling too great at the moment, so I will keep this post short and sweet.

Needles This week I have been busy working on a new project, so busy that I even finished it!! Nessa has been asking me for a while to make her an Autumn Skyline, and as it will be spring soon and starting to warm up, I decided it was the time to make it for her. I needed to calculate the different sizes before I cast on, and even then I need to go back and readjust a few times, but here are the first few pics of the Little Skyline. I made this out of the "Light Teal" colourway from Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton. The middle picture is the closest to the correct colour.

As soon as I get a chance I will be writing it all up into a pattern and putting it out for testing (I'm starting to get a collection of patterns that need to be tested!). I have decided that I will also offer this pattern and the Autumn Skyline pattern together as a discount on Ravelry, but I will tell you more about that when the time comes. In addition to this, I have also been working on the knitting machine on my 4ply version of the Autumn Skyline (are you sensing a theme!?). I managed to finish the back early this week and cast on the front. The back has a few small mistakes in it, but I think i can fix those up so they won't be too noticable.

Finally, I also made up a sample sheet for my machine as I am still learning. I want to have a reference folder so that if I come back after a few months I will know what settings I need to have to get the fabric I want. I have made this sheet available on my site (for free) if you would like to use it for your machine/reference guide.

I also managed to get a small amount done on my OMG Socks, but no pics this week. It was just a couple of rows at swimming lessions and school pick ups. So, that is my quick little post to let you all know what I am working on at the moment. I am attempting to get a few more designs off my needles, so keep a look out for those over the next few weeks. Also as a special little 'preview' keep your eye out for a sale this week... it's my birthday, and you know I like to share the love!!
