Knitting Getaway... off to the beach

It's a long weekend in ACT/NSW at the moment, so Brian and I have come down the coast (along with the rest of Canberra! haha). We are child free this weekend and thought it would be nice to get away for a couple of days. One thing I really enjoy about going away is waking up in the morning, making a coffee and sitting out on the veranda with a crossword.

I bought a bag of goodies down here to work on. I have a pair of vanilla socks, a new design and I also managed to cast on a child version of Rhun. As we are currently heading into summer, I am making Nessa a 7yo size so that she will be able to wear it next year. In addition to the knitting I have also bought along a cross stitch I have been working on for a couple of months now. I also (obviously) have my laptop, so there has also been a little pattern writing and a lot of Ravelry surfing.
Yesterday we went to take a look at the local markets to see what was on offer. I love looking at all of the different stalls, and I love seeing all of the handmade goodies. I also can't leave without buying a packet of roasted nuts - yesterday's purchase was caramel sesame peanuts! yummy!! I also came across some really pretty shawl pins (or can be used for hair if you wanted). There were a few to choose from, but I really liked the blues.

At lunchtime today we had the typical fish and chips overlooking the beach. I love to watch the waves crashing on the rocks, the smell of the salty air and the soothing sound of the waves. The sky was a little more grey today, but I don'y mind as it wasn't as humid as it was yesterday, meaning I could knit more today!

Do I need to go back to reality tomorrow?
